FIRE
Leona Choy
Send Fire on me, Lord!
Fall on me Flames of Pentecost
tongues of Fire
upon me, within me
consuming dross of self.
Light Watch Fires in my soul
ignite me as a burning bush
yet not consumed, a living sacrifice.
Touch my lips with glowing coals until
I’m possessed by your Holy Spirit.
I see Your reflection in the Fire
the brilliance of your Manifest Presence.
Let the Flames of Your hot love
blaze more fiercely on the altar of my heart
never quenched, never diminished
a perpetual sacrifice of praise
as incense rising to Your Throne.
Arouse in me a fervent heart
from walking with You on the way.
Restore the intensity of my passion
imparting power to spread Your Holy Fire
to set the Final Harvest Fields ablaze
redeeming wandering men
from the kingdom of darkness
by the light of Your uncommon Fire.

RAIN ON ME
Leona Choy
I hear the whisper
of abundance of rain
in the restless tree tops
I smell it in the air
feel it damp against my face
all earth is hushed
as the distant rumble of thunder
heralds the refreshment to come.
I stand exposed, vulnerable
bare skin longing
dry spirit crying
empty hands lifted
soul thirsting.
Rain on me, Lord
drench me
soak me
saturate me
with the rain of heaven
not just "mercy drops"
nor "raindrops fallin' on my head"
not a drizzle or a sprinkle
but for the showers I plead!
Parched ground cracks
withering foliage crackles
creatures moan with thirst
with all creation I cry:
Rain on me!
Inundate me
let your clouds burst above
let the heavens open
let the lightning crash
Rain on me!
Let the water rise around me
let me stand in your flooded river
let swift currents carry my soul
toward the destiny
you've ordained for me
Keep raining on me!
Do I want an umbrella?!
NO, Satan, NO!
